“In light of the public controversy surrounding my involvement in this case, I have concluded that there is a manifest necessity to declare a mistrial,” Kozinski wrote in his order.
California has redeemed itself, sort of. I’m proud to be a Californian again, kind of. Seems that Judge Alex Kozinski has recused himself from the pornography trial, but that unfortunately leaves Mr. Isaacs to continue to make the filth he’s become so adept at.
Now, will they file charges against this knucklehead again? But, to be honest I hadn’t thought about the angle that Defense Attorney Diamond is worried about.
So, maybe this will work out after all. Prosecutors can use this episode should they bring charges again to their benefit. Let’s hope they do and put this freak, Ira Isaacs away for a long, long time.

Have you heard about the 9th District Court of Appeals Case in California where an “artist” is defending his right to publish “art” including defecation, fetishes and bestiality?
Ira Isaacs readily admits he produced and sold movies depicting bestiality and sexual activity involving feces and urine. The judge warned potential jurors that the hours of fetish videos included violence against women, and many of them said they don’t want to serve because watching would make them sick to their stomachs.
In the article by Washington Post, we see that 50% of potential jurors were so disgusted with it all that they refused to serve or were released by Chief Judge Alex Kozinski.
Isaacs defense attorney had this to say.
“There’s no question the stuff is disgusting,” said Diamond, who has spent much of his career representing pornographers. “The question is should we throw people in jail for it?”
So, if the defense attorney admits it disgusting and half of all potential jurors refuse to sit the trial, is there really a case to support Isaacs claim of “artistic license”?
And here’s a real kick in the nether regions. When asked by potential jurors about how much of this crap (no pun intended) they would have to watch, Judge Alex Kozinski replied they would have to watch over 5 hours of video and stated:
“I will be there watching with you. This is part of the job we’re doing.”
Which brings us to the next point as reported by AP:
Which probably explains why he was so willing to watch over 5 hours of Ira Isaacs filth… Tell me, do you not see a problem here?
Kozinski, 57, told the Times that he thought the material on his Web site, which included a video of a man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal, couldn’t be seen by the public. The judge, who said he didn’t believe any of the images were obscene, blocked access after the interview Tuesday evening, the Times said.
Should he be recused? Should Kozinski be allowed to continue as a judge for that matter??? Once again, here’s the link to the 9th District Court so you can try and express your dismay and maybe get this doofus out of the Court Systems.

A friend sent me this link today of the raw footage of Fox New’s “Factor” interviewing Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Cheerleading section.
Father Pfleger responds to questions in this very lengthy, but telling interview with Porter Berry; defending the outspoken and offensive Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

MEXICO CITY — The Absolut vodka company apologized Saturday for an ad campaign depicting the southwestern U.S. as part of Mexico amid angry calls for a boycott by U.S. consumers.
From Foxnews.com
You’ve seen these Absolut Vodka adds before, but you may have not seen this one. Read more at La Plaza in the Los Angeles Times.
The whole concept taps into the idea that the U.S. pretty much stole all of what was Mexican territory. Of course that’s all b.s. cuz we pretty much purchased most of the territory. And what we didn’t purchase was part of the ole “Independance from Mexico” thing, i.e.; the Bear Flag Revolution in California and the Lone Star Republic of Texas…
It’s all wishful thinking on their part, but it’s inflaming a lot of folks.

Found this article over at Hot Air. Seems the Bay Area city is pushing to zone Military Recruiters much like Adult-oriented businesses.
Outrage: Berkeley proposal would regulate military recruiting centers like adult businesses
From the Daily Californian, In response to a Marine Corps recruiting office established in Berkeley last year, local activists are trying to make it more difficult for future recruiting centers to open in the city.
If passed by a majority of Berkeley voters, a proposed initiative would require military recruiting offices and private military companies in Berkeley to first acquire a special use permit.
To obtain this permit, a business must hold public hearings and a public comment period.
So, what does Berkeley councilwoman Dona Spring really think about it?
“I do want to do something, whatever we can do, to shut down an agency that offends our public standards,” she said. “It’s a detriment, it’s a danger to the public.”
This is from the same part of the state that lets gays march nude through its streets and engage in public sexual acts… Remember the Folsom Street Fair? I won’t link to that cuz most of the sites aren’t the kind you really want to see. But, Google at your own risk.
Here’s what I gotta say to Dona. I hope you never have another earthquake or fire in San Francisco, cuz we won’t be sending in the National Guard to help your poor devastated butts, since they’d only be a danger to the public…

Should stupidity be made a crime? Should colleges and universities be required to offer courses in Common Sense 101? Star Simpson walks into an airport wearing an electronic device on her sweatshirt in the name of art and then doesn’t understand why cops arrest her.
(AP) Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomore Star Simpson, 19, from Hawaii is arraigned in court…
Nineteen-year-old Star Simpson was charged Friday with possessing a hoax device. Her attorney described the charge as off base and “almost paranoid,” arguing at a court hearing that she did not act in a suspicious manner and had told an airport worker that the device was art.
Okay, Mr. Attorney, had she walked into the airport with a “fake” gun, would you call the cops almost paranoid if they detained her? After all, fakes aren’t necessarily apparent until investigated. Are you saying that all murderers, bombers and kidnappers must act suspicious to be criminals? Wouldn’t acting suspiciously be the last thing a bomber would want to do?
Authorities said they were amazed that someone would wear such a device eight months after a similar scare in Boston, and six years after two of the jets hijacked in the Sept. 11 attacks took off from Logan.
“I’m shocked and appalled that somebody would wear this type of device to an airport,” said State Police Maj. Scott Pare, the airport’s commanding officer.
Simpson showed “a total disregard to understand the context of the situation she is in, which is an airport of post-9/11,” prosecutor Wayne Margolis said at a hearing where a not guilty plea was entered for Simpson and she was released on $750 bail. Margolis had asked for $5,000 bail.
“She said that it was a piece of art and she wanted to stand out on career day,” Pare said. “She claims that it was just art, and that she was proud of the art and she wanted to display it.”
Yup, performance art! Meant to insult, offend and upset as many people as she could just to draw attention to herself!
