One Reason I Hate Being From California

Have you heard about the 9th District Court of Appeals Case in California where an “artist” is defending his right to publish “art” including defecation, fetishes and bestiality?

Ira Isaacs readily admits he produced and sold movies depicting bestiality and sexual activity involving feces and urine. The judge warned potential jurors that the hours of fetish videos included violence against women, and many of them said they don’t want to serve because watching would make them sick to their stomachs.

Judge Alex Kazinski

In the article by Washington Post, we see that 50% of potential jurors were so disgusted with it all that they refused to serve or were released by Chief Judge Alex Kozinski.

Isaacs defense attorney had this to say.

“There’s no question the stuff is disgusting,” said Diamond, who has spent much of his career representing pornographers. “The question is should we throw people in jail for it?”

So, if the defense attorney admits it disgusting and half of all potential jurors refuse to sit the trial, is there really a case to support Isaacs claim of “artistic license”?

And here’s a real kick in the nether regions.  When asked by potential jurors about how much of this crap (no pun intended) they would have to watch, Judge Alex Kozinski replied they would have to watch over 5 hours of video and stated:

“I will be there watching with you. This is part of the job we’re doing.”

Which brings us to the next point as reported by AP:

LOS ANGELES – The chief judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals posted sexually explicit photos and videos – including one of a man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal – on a Web site he maintained that he has now blocked to the public, the Los Angeles Times reported today on its Web site.
The revelation about Judge Alex Kozinski came as opening statements were under way in a porn movie distributor’s obscenity trial he is presiding over in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

Which probably explains why he was so willing to watch over 5 hours of Ira Isaacs filth…  Tell me, do you not see a problem here?

Kozinski, 57, told the Times that he thought the material on his Web site, which included a video of a man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal, couldn’t be seen by the public. The judge, who said he didn’t believe any of the images were obscene, blocked access after the interview Tuesday evening, the Times said.

Should he be recused?  Should Kozinski be allowed to continue as a judge for that matter???  Once again, here’s the link to the 9th District Court so you can try and express your dismay and maybe get this doofus out of the Court Systems.

    Hey Ham,
I’m with you on this. The whole 9th circuit is a joke. They have the highest percentage of overturned verdicts and decisions and it’s an embarrassment to us all. You have to wonder if there is some sort of perversion equasion in the selection process of these people.

Well hopefully you’ve left California and moved to another state where your sexual habits are everyone else’s business and they can tell you who you can f**K and what positions you can engage in. And don’t worry about the judges, you still got the ones that matter the most in your corner. After all, they voted for your boy Georgie to be prez and he hasn’t disappointed at all. I imagine he’s the republican’s wet dream. Can I say one reason I hate being from America is because of Bush or would that be considered “anti-American”? Although it was ok for you to say you hate being from Cali but you wouldn’t consider that as being anti-Californian or anti-American since it is part of America. Maybe you’re just anti-part-American?

Jack, you sooooo missed the point…

    WC,
No, the problem of the 9th is simply moral equivelency. I’m taking a guess here, but Judge Kazinski probably came through the 1960’s with that typical Timothy Leary attitude.. Tune in, drop out or whatever that crap was. I’ll double check on that.
