Obscenity or Art, One Reason I’m Still at Little Peeved at California
“In light of the public controversy surrounding my involvement in this case, I have concluded that there is a manifest necessity to declare a mistrial,” Kozinski wrote in his order.
California has redeemed itself, sort of. I’m proud to be a Californian again, kind of. Seems that Judge Alex Kozinski has recused himself from the pornography trial, but that unfortunately leaves Mr. Isaacs to continue to make the filth he’s become so adept at.
Now, will they file charges against this knucklehead again? But, to be honest I hadn’t thought about the angle that Defense Attorney Diamond is worried about.
So, maybe this will work out after all. Prosecutors can use this episode should they bring charges again to their benefit. Let’s hope they do and put this freak, Ira Isaacs away for a long, long time.

One Reason I Hate Being From California
Have you heard about the 9th District Court of Appeals Case in California where an “artist” is defending his right to publish “art” including defecation, fetishes and bestiality?
Ira Isaacs readily admits he produced and sold movies depicting bestiality and sexual activity involving feces and urine. The judge warned potential jurors that the hours of fetish videos included violence against women, and many of them said they don’t want to serve because watching would make them sick to their stomachs.
In the article by Washington Post, we see that 50% of potential jurors were so disgusted with it all that they refused to serve or were released by Chief Judge Alex Kozinski.
Isaacs defense attorney had this to say.
“There’s no question the stuff is disgusting,” said Diamond, who has spent much of his career representing pornographers. “The question is should we throw people in jail for it?”
So, if the defense attorney admits it disgusting and half of all potential jurors refuse to sit the trial, is there really a case to support Isaacs claim of “artistic license”?
And here’s a real kick in the nether regions. When asked by potential jurors about how much of this crap (no pun intended) they would have to watch, Judge Alex Kozinski replied they would have to watch over 5 hours of video and stated:
“I will be there watching with you. This is part of the job we’re doing.”
Which brings us to the next point as reported by AP:
Which probably explains why he was so willing to watch over 5 hours of Ira Isaacs filth… Tell me, do you not see a problem here?
Kozinski, 57, told the Times that he thought the material on his Web site, which included a video of a man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal, couldn’t be seen by the public. The judge, who said he didn’t believe any of the images were obscene, blocked access after the interview Tuesday evening, the Times said.
Should he be recused? Should Kozinski be allowed to continue as a judge for that matter??? Once again, here’s the link to the 9th District Court so you can try and express your dismay and maybe get this doofus out of the Court Systems.
