Not many folk know that old Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) spent time during World War II drafting political cartoons. Last year, I ran across a book of his collections and today found this site on the Web.
Here’s one particular cartoon he drafted July 16th, 1942. Still seems appropriate today, does it not? The following link has done Dr. Seuss one better.

Great post and thanks for the website. It’s certainly refreshing to see the American pride in these political cartoons. So many are relevant even today. Another great American cartoonist was Bill Mauldin whop died in 2002. His characters, “Willie and Joe,” provided enlightened comment on the war from the soldier’s perspective in WWII: http://ww2.pstripes.osd.mil/02/nov02/mauldin/
I think he even pissed off a general a time or two.
