Yeah, I know, the Dems??? We must understand the other side, to fight them. Here’s the play by play:
I’m sitting here in absolute agony as I watch the debate on CNN. For the last 15 minutes, all they’ve talked about is national health care. Is that all they think about???
Oh, wait, someone has just asked about Iran. Hillary is glad that we’re finally talking with them, saying that diplomacy should have happened years ago, yet she did say that Iran having the bomb is unacceptable. Well, she’s just said that the current administration has done nothing diplomatically. She refused to talk “hypothetical’s” if Iran refuses to give up the path to a bomb and there might be a chance of military intervention.
According to Senator Biden, Iran is decades away from having a functional bomb. Hmmm, not sure he’s right there.
Kucinich has just admitted that he wouldn’t bomb Osama Bin Ladin if told they found his location. Obama draws exception to Kucinich.
Jeez, here we go again, Blitzer has them showing hands again. For the third time, Wolff has his charges raising their hands pro/con on a particular issue. Not sure what the point is of showing hands. He asked them who would bomb OBL despite the proximity of civilians. Most of the candidates hesitate to take the bait on this question.
Topic change to Darfur: another request to raise hands to show support for military action in Darfur. Hmmm, not much enthusiasm for that question. Richardson claims no military force to save Darfur. Obama states Guantanamo erodes our legitimacy. Another request to raise hands. Biden states we set up a no fly zone in Darfur very enthusiastically.
Mandatory Service: Kucinivich channels Kennedy, how original, ask not what your country can do for you, blah, blah, blah… Dodd says no draft. Rips on the student loan companies.
Definition of Rich from the audience: Obama – those making over 250K/year. Wolff asks what the tax cut off would be. Obama makes that cut off at 250K. Wants to roll back Bush’s tax cuts. Edwards wants to roll back tax cuts for anyone who makes over 250K also, wants college for everyone. (Gee, guess who’s gonna pay for that???)
