Incredibly moving. If you can make it all the way through without a tear or smile, you have no heart.

The New American Socialist Party

H/T to the Captain’s Quarters.

Media Embarrassment Over Socialist Rhetoric?

Hillary Clinton announced that she would campaign on a platform that would emphasize the need for collective economics and move away from individual performance and success. It could be called an extension of “It Takes A Village,” and it might have been — had the newspapers bothered to cover it:

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an ownership society really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.”I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

Hard work no longer means anything!  If you earn more, it will be handed over to those who didn’t work as hard.  Gee, worked great in Russia and all the East European countries.  Works great in France too!

Reminds me of the joke about the student who wrote a paper on Socialism.  After doing much research, “Joe” was quite proud to proclaim himself a Socialist.

The teacher told Joe that he earned an “A”, but since “Sam” earned a “C” on his paper, the grades would be evenly distributed as a “B” between them.

When Joe protested and stated that he had worked long and hard on the paper and should get what he deserved, the teacher smiled.

“Now,” the instructor sighed, “you sound like a Capitalist.

This Man is Dangerous

May 30, 2007

Hugo_Chavez

No doubt many of you are watching this disaster in the making.  The man who publicly scorned the President of the United States… calling him “the Devil”….

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez tore into his U.S. counterpart and his U.N. hosts Wednesday, likening President Bush to the devil and telling the General Assembly that its system is “worthless.”

is now showing you his own devilish self. Now he’s removing Television Stations.

CARACAS, Venezuela (CNN) — As thousands of students marched in the streets in support, a Venezuelan television channel denied accusations that it was inciting violence against the government.

President Hugo Chavez’s administration shut down one station that was critical of him, and has opened an investigation into the remaining opposition station, Globovision.

With one station down and one more to go, he’s silencing his critics.

Over at Progressive dot com, Greg Palast actually says he interviewed Chavez back in July 2006.  Yes, it’s a liberal site, but we must know our enemies as the saying goes.  Look what Chavez supposedly said,

Q: Your opponents are saying that you are beginning a slow-motion dictatorship. Is that what we are seeing?

Hugo Chávez: They have been saying that for a long time. When they’re short of ideas, any excuse will do as a vehicle for lies. That is totally false. I would like to invite the citizens of Great Britain and the citizens of the U.S. and the citizens of the world to come here and walk freely through the streets of Venezuela, to talk to anyone they want, to watch television, to read the papers. We are building a true democracy, with human rights for everyone, social rights, education, health care, pensions, social security, and jobs.

Well, Mr. Chavez, it looks like the citizens of the U.S. and G.B. are going to have a slightly skewed view of your television now that you’ve shut down the stations that express opposition views.  Is this a true democracy?

Ladies and Gentlemen, this man is truly dangerous.  Watch out for him, we’ll be seeing much worse things coming.  I’ll close with these thoughts; why are there no talking heads on our TV really outraged about all this?  Why has Nancy Pelosi not flown down there to mediate the problem yet?

Are the Democrats silent because they feel there is no impact on the U.S. for this?  Are they really that shortsighted that Venezuelan politics will eventually stir up a hornet’s nest in South America?
